What are the Levels of Tournament Play in Minnesota?
Two organizations offer competitive tournament basketball in Minnesota. The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and Minnesota Youth Athletic Service (MYAS).
Southern Minne Magic teams compete at the Division I and II levels in AAU and at the grade level in MYAS.
It is our belief that our younger athletes start out by competing in tournaments at their own grade level. This allows them time to improve on fundamentals, gain confidence and learn how to compete as a team. As their individual and team skills advance we may place them into the more competitive tournaments or have them play up a grade.
MN AAU and MYAS offers three levels of competition in all grades. D-I, II and III.
